On the occasion of the opening of Jaime Lauriano's solo exhibition, Nara Roesler New York invites you to the launch of the book Social Fabric: Art and Activism in Contemporary Brazil, the catalog of homonymous exhibition that was on view at The Visual Arts Center, situated in The College of Fine Arts at The University of Texas at Austin, from 2022 to 2023.

On the same day, at 4 pm, Lauriano and the curator of the exhibition Igor Simões, will join art historian and curator Tie Jojima and the book's editor Adele Nelson for a conversation.

Edited by Adele Nelson, Maria Emilia Fernandez, and MacKenzie Stevens, and published by The University of Texas Press, Social Fabric: Art and Actvism in Contemporary Brazil, brings together the work of ten artists who reflect upon the long-standing histories of oppressive power structures in the territory now known as Brazil.

Alongside Jaime Lauriano, the book presents works by Denilson Baniwa, Castiel Vitorino Brasileiro, Guerreiro do divino amor, Maré de Matos, Aline Motta, Lais Myrrha, Antonio Obá, Rosana Paulino and Sallisa Rosa.
