As part of the renovation of the Palais Garnier, Opéra national de Paris has invited JR to transform the facade of the monument. The work 'Retour à la' caverne’ continues the 'trompe l'oeil projects' series, which have taken over iconic sites all over the globe.
JR's transformation of the Palais Garnier will take place in two acts where the public is encouraged to take part in embroidery workshops and an Inside Out Project Photobooth in September and October to help create a second installation.
