The idea for Roesler Hotel arose during the process of Galeria Nara Roesler’s internationalization, with its participation in art fairs in Europe and the United States, coupled with the growing activity in the area, the presence of an enthusiastic public seeking novelties, the reencounter with new works by known artists, and, especially, the contact with fellow art dealers in various countries, with their daring projects, their generosity, and the fascinating rosters of artists they represent.

Our pleasure in light of the interest shown for the artists represented by our gallery is precisely balanced by our own interest in the foreign artists, so stimulating and different from their Brazilian counterparts. This was what led me to conceive of a project of interchange in keeping with the dynamics of the contemporary world. A more flexible one, based on direct contact with the Brazilian public and Brazilian artists, especially those from São Paulo, where our gallery is headquartered.

This is what gave rise to Roesler Hotel. After two years of activities and ten exhibitions featuring the work of eleven artists, it can be said that it has established itself as a space for kindling and spreading debate about some of the most instigating contemporary production, by artists willing to make contact with one of the world’s most vibrant metropolises.
